Context of Practice: Designers (Communication)

For our last studio task for Richard before our practical sessions begin, we must create a list of 5 designers that relate to each context of practice lecture we have had throughout first year on the programme. We have 9 topics; modernism, postmodernism, street art/graffiti, film, high culture vs. low culture, typography and the history of type, media specificity, advertising and communication.

Amariage Panache
Unfortunately I was unable to find a vast amount of information on Amariage Panache, but I find his work really inspiring.

Jonathan Ogden
Typographic Verses is a website run by Jonathan Ogden as a place to share great typographic designs of Bible verses and lines from hymns.

Biography "I’m Jonathan Ogden (also known as Oggy). A Web Designer at The Message and a lover of all things creative. In my spare time I make videos, design things, write music, drink tea (pictured) and some other stuff.

I’ve lived in Salford (near Manchester) in the UK all my life. I started getting into creative hobbies at the age of 10, starting with some little flash animations. A couple of years later I got into making films too, then music, then graphic design, then web design, then music again. I still dabble in all of them although web design is my full time job now.

But more importantly, for me, I’m a christian. I see my relationship with God as a whole lot more important than anything else I do, and the best points in my life so far have been times spent with God. I see a lot of the creative stuff I do as a form of worship and it’s the best motivation ever.
I love music too. Both writing it and listening to it. I’ve been really into some of the lo-fi folk, indie, alternative type stuff at the moment. Check out my last.fm profile to see what I’m listening to.

This website is a home to my creations in web design, graphic design, films and animation. For my music work I go by the name of Rivers & Robots.

I also run a blog on here which I don’t use very often, but when I do I like to share tips, tutorials, thoughts about design things and anything else that I’m doing or interested in."
